EPAFLEX Polyurethanes SpA was established in 1991 and specialized in the production of polyurethane systems for the footwear industry. Over the years, EPAFLEX business expanded further and diversified into thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyureas, polyaspartic coatings and polyurethane systems for casting applications.

ELACHEM Spa was extablished in 2001 in Vigevano and specialized in production of polyurethane systems, mainly for the footwear industry. In 2008, ELACHEM acquired EPAFLEX Polyurethanes and added TPU to its portfolio. In 2015 ELACHEM started producing saturated polyester polyols, originally for captive use and later to supply automotive, construction, footwear and elastomers industries.

EPAFLEX Americas was founded in April 2023 and is the latest venture from ELACHEM SpA and EPAFLEX Polyurethanes SpA. EPAFLEX Americas services the US and Canada with thermoplastic polyurethane pellets for the automotive, general industrial, electronics, consumer goods, and heavy engineering applications.
